Abrams will publish John Byrne’s X-Men: Elsewhen, in which he revisits the end of the X-Men’s Dark Phoenix Saga to imagine what would happen if Jean Grey had survived the final conflict but was drastically changed in the process, leading to a very different future for the team and for the Marvel Universe as a whole. Byrne began writing and penciling the comic seven years ago, posting the penciled version on his website. Abrams will publish the new saga as a three-volume series in its Marvel Arts line, inked by Byrne and Paul Willis, colored by Lovern Kindzierski and Leonard O’Grady, and lettered by Byrne and Patrick Brosseau. Abrams will publish X-Men Elsewhen Vol. 1 in April 2026 as a 240-page, full color hardcover with a 7.5" x 11" trim size and an MSRP of $35.99.
The latest addition to the Marvel Arts line, The Avengers in The Veracity Trap, will be published in August 2025 (see "New Avengers OGN").
