Horror is the biggest thing in showbiz, and we round up news in the genre here.
Marvel Zombies will now be headed to streaming on September 24, 2025, according to Collider. This animated series was originally set to premiere on October 3, 2025, but was moved up (see " Marvel on Disney+ 2025 Trailer"). The series features a voice cast including Hailee Steinfeld, Florence Pugh, and Elizabeth Olsen.
Netflix recently released Wednesday Season 2 on August 4, 2025, which racked 50 million views in five days, according to Variety. This is a somewhat similar total to the Season 1 release (see "'Wednesday' Renewed") with the exception that Season 2 only debuted with the first four episodes. The next four episodes of Season 2 hit on September 3, 2025, which Netflix also released a trailer for (see below).
AMC is ending The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon series, according to Variety. The series was recently renewed for a fourth and final season, which has already begun shooting in Spain. Season 3 will release on September 7, 2025 (see "'TWD: Daryl Dixon' S3 Trailers").
Netflix dropped a trailer for Haunted Hotel (see below). Haunted Hotel is a new animated series in which a single mom inherits a hotel from her brother that comes along with some high-maintenance, supernatural guests. It stars Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, and Skyler Gisondo and is created by Matt Roller, who also worked on Krapopolis and Archer.
HBO Max released a teaser for IT: Welcome to Derry (see below). The new horror series, based on the It movie franchise (see "'It: Chapter 2'"), will launch in October 2025. Avalon Hill recently released an IT-themed expansion for Betrayal at House on the Hill called Betrayal at the Neibolt House: The Evil of Pennywise.
Anna Faris and Regina Hall are teaming up again for a new Scary Movie film, according to Variety. The duo will star in the sixth film in the franchise, which will be a reboot by the Wayans Brothers featuring an original script. It is slated to hit theaters on June 12, 2026.
