Warner Bros. has signed Shane (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) Black to direct its live action Death Note feature, according to Variety. Warners picked up the property for a Hollywood production about two years ago, after producing three Death Note features in Japan (see “Warner Gets Death Note”). 

 

Writers Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry, who are also collaborating with Black on Doc Savage (see “Doc Savage Movie”), have been assigned to write a script.
