NYCC News: Andre Ovredal, the director of Trollhunter, and Adrian Askarieh, the producer of Hitman, have acquired the rights to Enormous a post-apocalyptic comic book saga written by Tim Daniel and drawn by Mehdi Cheggour and published by Image Comics.  Ovredal and Askarieh are planning an ambitious transmedia adaptation that would include a TV series, and a high-end digital Web series as well as feature film.

 

Enormous depicts the Earth in the grip of an ecological catastrophe that leads to the appearance of gigantic beasts that destroy civilization as we know it.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, Enormous is moving to a new publisher, 21 Ink Publishing, and 21 Ink will announce a new 18-issue Enormous comic book series this week at the New York Comic Con. 

 

The 64-page Enormous graphic novel debuted at San Diego this year in an "enormous" (for a graphic novel) 11 inch-by-17 inch format.  No word yet on the format of the new Enormous comic book series.
