Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming are returning to the scene of their long-running series Powers with Powers 25, a 12-issue series featuring a mix of new and familiar characters.  The new series marks the 25th anniversary of the original, which won the 2001 Eisner Award for Best New Series and was adapted into a television show that ran for two seasons on Play Station Network (see “‘Powers’ TV Series Cancelled After 2 Seasons”).  Like the original, Powers 25 features police detectives and superheroes working together to solve crimes against people with superpowers, and it is designed to appeal to both new readers and longtime fans.  In addition to Oeming, and colorist Nick Filardi, each issue will include new art by Dark Horse creators including Mike Mignola, Stan Sakai, David Mack, Scott Hepburn, Eric Powell, and Jill Thompson.  The first issue will be released on September 10, 2025, with covers by Oeming, Mignola, Mack, and David Marquez.

Powers was first published by Image Comics, then Marvel Comics (under its Icon imprint), then DC Comics (as part of the Jinxworld imprint) before settling at Dark Horse Comics, which has been publishing Bendis’s creator-owned work since 2021 (see “Bendis Moving Creator-Owned Work to Dark Horse”).
