Comic-Con News: Archaia Entertainment and actress Alyssa Milano announced the Summer of 2014 publication of Hacktivist, a hardcover graphic novel that explores the contemporary issues of computer hacking and activism that are very much in the news today. Based on a story by Milano, written by screen and comic book writers Jackson Lanzing and Colin Kelly, and illustrated by Marcus To, Hacktivist will appear first as a digital comic in the fall of 2013, and then as a hardcover graphic novel collection in the summer of 2014.
Hacktivist charts the adventures of Ed Hiccox and Nate Graft, the founders of the world’s most innovative social media company, who moonlight as one of the most notorious black-hat hacker teams on the planet. Milano explained, "I am very involved with global activism and philanthropy. I like the idea of everyday people doing good. My inspiration for Hacktivist is Jack Dorsey, the creator of Twitter and Square. I picture him leaving the office at night and going home, where he locks himself in his room and starts hacking to change the world."
Archaia will distribute a free Hacktivist Ashcan comic (limited to 500 copies) at Comic-Con.
