A new edition of Fantasy Flight Games’ BattleLore war game is scheduled to release in the fourth quarter of 2013. The new edition features a number of changes and new models.
BattleLore Second Edition will be set in Fantasy Flight’s Terrinoth fantasy realm, used in other games including Runebound and Descent: Journeys in the Dark. Players will command armies of the Daqan Lords and the barbaric Uthuk Y’llan. Both armies can be reinforced with special “elite” and “legend” units, including monstrous and demonic creatures.
In addition to the new setting for the game, the new edition features a number of rules changes and new mechanics. The game still uses Richard Borg’s Command and Colors system, but the color-based unit abilities have been replaced by individual unit stats. The plastic models are manufactured in a larger 28mm scale. A new scenario generation system has also been added, allowing players to randomly generate their own scenarios instead of using pre-set battlefields.
BattleLore Second Edition will include 92 plastic models, and will have a suggested retail price of $79.95.
