The Pokemon Company is planning an August release for the Pokemon CCG: XY--Furious Fists Expansion, which will be available in boosters, a theme deck, and an Elite Trainer Box. Furious Fists, whose Japanese title is literally "Rising Fists," is the third major expansion for the English XY series. The set continues to feature Mega Evolution as powerful Pokemon EX and centers around the Aura Pokemon Lucario. The Furious Fists set, which is due out on August 13, contains 110 cards including 5 Pokemon-EX, and 2 M-Pokemon-EX: Mega Lucario and Mega Heracross (MegaEvolution Pokemon), and several XY-P Promotional cards.
The Furious Fists Booster Box contains 36 ten-card booster packs, while the 60-card Furious Fists theme decks come packed eight to a box. Each 10-card Booster Pack has a retail price of $3.99, while the 60-card Theme Decks have an MSRP of $12.99, and the Elite Trainer Box will retail for $39.90.
The Furious Fists Elite Trainer Box includes 8 Furious Fist booster packs, 65 card sleeves featuring Mega Lucario, 45 Pokemon TCG Energy Cards (including Fairy Energy), 6 damage-counter dice, 1 competition-legal coin-flip die, 2 acrylic condition markers, a player’s guide to Furious Fists expansion, and a collector’s box to hold everything, with 4 dividers to keep it organized.
The Pokemon franchise has picked up steam in 2014 after the Pokemon X & Y video game sold 12 million copies in late 2013 (see "'Pokemon' Activity Picks Up")--and new updates for the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire video games are slated for a November U.S. release (see "'Pokemon Omega Ruby' and 'Alpha Sapphire'").
