Square Enix and Buena Vista Games have shipped over 10 million units worldwide of three skus of the Kingdom Hearts role-playing video games.  The Kingdom Hearts game, which combines Disney characters and settings with those from Square Enix's popular Final Fantasy game, has been a huge hit here in North America with over 5.8 million units on the market.  With numbers like this it is no wonder that Tokyopop's Kingdom Hearts manga is ranked #3 in ICv2's list of the Top 50 Manga Properties, or that Diamond has already imported two series of action figures based on the franchise (see 'Kingdom Hearts Action Figures').

The original Kingdom Hearts game for the PS2, which was released in 2002, has sold over 3 million units in North America, while Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories released in December 2004 for the Gameboy Advance has resulted in sales of nearly a million units on this continent, and Square Enix has shipped 1.9 million units of Kingdom Hearts II for the PS2 since last March.
