Steve Jackson Games and Dark Horse Comics have announced that Steve Jackson Games will be producing an RPG based on Mike Mignola's Hellboy comic, which is published by Dark Horse.  The RPG will be graphic novel sized and will serve not only as a game but also as a fan guide to the world of Hellboy. 

The Hellboy RPG will use Steve Jackson's GURPS game system.  It will be written by GURPS veterans Phil Masters and Jonathan Woodward.  Christopher Golden, writer of the Hellboy spinoff miniseries Mike Mignola's B.P.R.D.:  Hollow Earth, will contribute an eight-page story and help to assemble background material for the game.  Hellboy creator Mike Mignola is also involved.  The Hellboy RPG is planned for an August release at a $24.95 MSRP.  The license also includes Cardboard Heroes and miniatures, both of which are planned for release later in 2002.
