Variety is reporting that Guy Ritchie plans to helm a film version of his Virgin Comics series Gamekeeper for Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver.  According to Variety this marks the first original Virgin Comics property 'to move into development as a feature.'  Gamekeeper is part of Virgin's 'Director's Cut' lineup, which also includes comics from Ed Burns, John Woo, Terry Gilliam, Nick Cage, Jonathan Mostow, and Shekar Kapur.

Ritchie's Gamekeeper is the story of a Scottish caretaker and guide who knows how to read all the signs of animal behavior in the wild.  After his son his killed the Gamekeeper uses his skills to track the killer through Europe's urban jungles.  Andy Diggle is the writer of the Virgin Comic series, which is based on Ritchie's original story.
