Sony Pictures has announced that the DVD of director David Slade's adaptation of Steve Niles' 30 Days of Night graphic novel will be released on February 26th.  Slade's film of the IDW graphic novel earned $40 million at the domestic box office and arrives on DVD just 130 days after it was released to theaters.  The film wears its graphic novel origins proudly on its sleeve, and its release on DVD should provide another occasion for retailers to move IDW's stable of 30 Days of Night graphic novels (see '30 Days of Night Poster Flogs GNs').

The 30 Days of Night DVD (MSRP $28.95) contains a number of extras including eight behind-the-scenes featurettes, one of which explains how the crew shot much of the film in the dark, as well as commentaries by stars Josh Hartnett and Melissa George, and producer Rob Tapert.
