I've had two "bad news" new comic release days two weeks in a row now. Last week all my boxes were at UPS ready for pick-up except one box of new comics. That one arrived right when I opened, causing unnecessary rush and stress.
This week when I pick up my shipment, I immediately think something's wrong because I only have one typical rectangular box of new books. When I open it there are only reorders and graphic novels... Uh-oh! After talking to Diamond and tracking the package it turns out there was a label mishap at UPS and I won't get it until TOMORROW!
Obviously today's sales are in the crapper and all I'll get is a lousy freight credit. This immediately reminded me of a conversation I had with another retail manager two weeks ago. Why doesn't Diamond schedule our product to arrive one business day before we can sell it?

We all know how much work it is to display new comics, sort them out from the reorders, report shortages/damages, and unpack/price toys and collectibles. What retailer would be against this?
I try to get a leg up on competition by picking it up at UPS one-two hours before I open, but obviously that hasn't helped me at all the last two weeks. When I go to the Diamond Summit in
Would any of you be opposed to getting the merchandise one day early?
