The Miami Book Fair International has announced that the poster artist for its 25th annual event, to be held November 9-16, is Pulitzer Prize-winner Art Spiegelman (Maus, Breakdowns, In the Shadow of No Towers).  The poster is the centerpiece of an expanded graphic novel presence coordinated by Diamond Book Distributors at the Fair, which drew 200,000 people last year. 

Twenty publishers are expected to host booths in the graphic novel pavilion at the show;  graphic novel programming for a variety of constituencies is planned; and a number of top comic creators will attend, including Spiegelman, Chip Kidd, Jessica Abel, Frank Beddor, Christos Gage, David Hajdu, David Heatley, Matt Madden, Jordan Mechner, Scott McCloud, Mike Perkins, Brian Reed, Ariel Shrag, and Marvel editor Bill Rosemann, among others.

Spiegelman will present Breakdowns:  Portrait of the Artist as a Young %@&*! (due from Pantheon in October) and sign his poster at the show.
