Funimation Entertainment and GDH, the parent company of leading anime producer Gonzo, have announced an agreement to broadcast GDH’s future anime titles via online media distribution and to collaborate on each series' DVD launch in the U.S.  The collaboration will showcase English language subtitled versions of GDH’s properties streamed via Funimation’s Website as well as through GDH’s key video-sharing partners (see “Gonzo Parent Part Owner of Crunchyroll”).

In addition Funimation will offer a download-to-own option for episodes of new Gonzo series through the Funimation Website and other sites at $1.99 per episode.  According to Gen Fukunaga, President and CEO of Funimation, “Our eventual goal is to simulcast these series online in tandem with the Japanese broadcast debut. We will also be working much more closely with GDH on the U.S. DVD release of the dubbed series. This coordination will enhance the success of these series in the U.S.

Gonzo has produced numerous popular anime series including Afro Samurai, Samurai Seven, Trinity Blood, Speed Grapher, Gantz, Pumpkin Scissors, Romeo x Juliet, Rosario + Vampire, G.I. Joe: Sigma 6, Transformers: Cybertron, and Welcome to the N.H.K.  Gonzo is also collaborating with Stan Lee on an animated TV series entitled Quartz (see “Stan Lee Working With Gonzo”).
