Comics2Film, which has to be one of the busiest Websites on the net these days, is reporting that the Disney studio has given the green light to an adaptation of Matt Wagner's Mage.  Although director F. Gary Gray has been associated with this project for some time, according to Comics2Film, he has other commitments and will not be involved.  Disney plans on making Mage an important part of the studio's 2003 schedule, so look for a director for this project to be announced shortly, and production to commence this fall.

Obviously, thanks to Spider-Man, there has never been a better time for getting movies made from comic book material, and Dark Horse is working with Arsenal Entertainment and writer Hans Rodionoff, who wrote the screenplay for the Marvel/Artisan Man-Thing movie, to interest a studio in producing a film based on Matt Wagner's other prime creation, Grendel.
