Dreamworks has hired Oscar-winner Bruce Joel Rubin (Ghost) to write the script for a new Hollywood feature based on the Japanese film Yomigaeri, according to Variety. The 2003 Japanese film was based on a novel in which villagers come back to life and resumes their normal lives. The remake of Yomigaeri, which means Resurrection, will tentatively be titled Rainbow Bridge.
Yomigaeri is one of three Asian films being remade by Dreamworks; the other two are Old Boy (see “I Am Legend Scribe on Old Boy”) and Ghost in the Shell (see “Ghost in the Shell Live Action Movie”).
