Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar told MTV that there will “definitely” be a sequel to both the comic book mini-series and the movie it spawned.  Millar explained: “The (mini) series ends on a teaser for the next one, and the movie ends on a teaser too.” The film version of Millar’s original Kick-Ass mini-series, which was directed by Matthew Vaughn, is being distributed in the U.S. by Lionsgate.  It opens on April 16th (see “Kick-Ass Gets a Date”).

Millar did not mention when a second Kick-Ass mini-series would be published, if Vaughn would be back to direct the sequel, or if Marvel/Disney would be involved in either the financing or distribution of the second Kick-Ass film.  A lot of those questions will likely depend on how the first film performs.  But Millar is confident, telling MTV: “We don’t want to sound too cocky, but we know this is good.  It didn’t cost that much money to make. There will definitely be another one.”
