ADV has announced that it will release Farscape: The Complete Season One DVD Box Set on October 29.  The slip-covered DVD-only box set includes all 22 episodes from the first season of the science fiction series that currently anchors the Sci-Fi Channel's primetime lineup.  Since debuting in 1999 Farscape has built a worldwide audience and the show currently airs in the U.K., Canada, Brazil, Sweden, France, and Australia as well as in the U.S.  Produced by Jim Henson Television and Hallmark Entertainment, Farscape is a literate science fiction series that has been hailed as 'TV's Best Space Series' by USA Today.  The Farscape: The Complete Season One DVD Box Set includes eleven disks in six individual DVD boxes with the total running time of shows and extras clocking in at more than 1100 minutes.  Retail for the 11-disk set is $149.98.

 

Farscape is a key property for many pop culture retailers because the show has built up both a cult following and a potent panoply of tie-in merchandise that includes action figures from Toy Vault, comics from Wildstorm, trading cards from Rittenhouse Archives, novels, episode guides, and apparel as well as ADV Films' VHS and DVD releases.
