Tickets are going on sale this week (in a special fan pre-sale) for the long-awaited Spider-Man musical, Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark. The troubled production had most recently been expected to go into previews in September (see “Spidey Musical Back on Track”); the actual date will be November 14th, with the opening scheduled for December 21st.
The huge production, with a budget variously reported as $40 to $50 million, features music by U2’s Bono and The Edge, and a book by director July Taymor and Glen Berger. Taymor won a Tony for Lion King.
Reeve Carney will play the title role (see “Reeve Carney Cast as Broadway Spidey”).
