Titan Comics has announced two new licenses, both with anime tie-ins. Sanda, by Beastars creator Paru Itagaki, is set in a future Japan where the birthrate has plummeted, resulting in a number of societal changes, including a general disregard of Christmas.  Teenager Sanda Kazushige is shocked when a fellow student accuses him of carrying an ancient curse (the cover hints at what that might be), and they set off together on a dangerous mission to discover the fate of a missing classmate.  The series is 16 volumes, and an anime adaptation is slated for Q4 2025 release.  Titan will publish the first volume on September 2, 2025, with an MSRP of $12.99.

Beastars was nominated for a 2020 Eisner Award (see “2020 Eisner Award Nominees Announced”) and sold well enough to make the BookScan Top 20 three months in a row (see “May 2020 NPD BookScan”).

Saint Seiya: Dark Wing, by Masami Kurumada, Kenji Saito, and Nobuyuki Ueda, already has an anime streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix.  This spinoff of Kurumada’s Saint Seiya features a teenager who is ambushed, together with his classmates, during a school trip and sent to the underworld to take up arms in a battle between gods and warriors.  Titan will release the first volume on September 16, 2025, with an MSRP of $12.99.
