The San Francisco Board of Supervisors has voted to over-ride Mayor Gavin Newsom’s veto (see “Mayor Vetoes Happy Meal Toy Ban”) of the city’s ban on Happy Meal toys in fast food meals that don’t meet nutritional requirements, according to CNN.  The over-ride means that San Francisco becomes the first city in the country to ban toy premiums (usually licensed) with fast food meals for kids.

QSRs will now have two options:  change the meal components to meet nutritional requirements, or stop marketing toy premiums with meals in San Francisco.
