Ratings on the fifth episode of AMC’s The Walking Dead, based on the Robert Kirkman graphic novel series, hit new highs, according to Hollywood Reporter.  Around 5.5 million people watched the first airing of Episode 5, topping the 5.3 million that watched the first airing of the heavily hyped Halloween premiere (see “8.1 Million Watch ‘The Walking Dead’”). 

Ratings on Episode 5 also topped those on the fourth episode, according to the report.
