Scholastic has revealed the cover and release date of the 14th volume in its best-selling Dog Man series. The new book, Dog Man: Big Jim Believes, will be released under the Graphix imprint on November 11, 2025, simultaneously in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. According to Scholastic, year to date sales of the series are up 34% compared to the same period in 2024.
The previous book in the series, Dog Man: Big Jim Believes, was the number two selling kids’ graphic novel in 2024, according to Circana BookScan; the top seller was Vol. 12 of the series, Dog Man: The Scarlet Shedder, and 11 of the top 20 books were Dog Man titles, with another Pilkey book, Cat Kid Comic Club: Influencers, also making the list (see “Full Year 2024 Circana BookScan”). Scholastic says that over 70 million copies of the Dog Man books have been sold worldwide since the series launched in 2016.
The books mix humor with a message of empathy and doing good, and in a statement accompanying the announcement, Pilkey said “The Dog Man series has evolved to become a love letter to my parents. I am grateful to them for believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. Their optimism, support, and encouragement have made a tremendous impact in my life.”
The animated Dog Man movie, which premiered on January 31, 2025, and had grossed $98 million in the U.S. by the end of April, will stream exclusively on Peacock starting on May 30.
