Archie Comics has hired Alex Segura as Executive Director of Publicity and Marketing.  In his new role at Archie, Segura will oversee publicity and marketing for both the direct and book markets. 

Segura was most recently Publicity Manager of DC Comics, where he was a frequent poster on the company’s The Source blog and was active in other publicity and social media initiatives.  His last post on The Source was on Friday. 

DC has been undergoing extensive reorganization, with a number of administrative functions relocating to Los Angeles (see “DC’s Move West to Affect 80”). 

Prior to DC, Segura held editing and writing posts at Miami Herald, Wizard, and Newsarama.
