Buddy Saunders of Lone Star Comics of Arlington, Texas read about ComicsPRO offering its memebers early release of Marvel's Formic Wars: Burning Earth #1 (see "ComicsPRO Retailers Get Early Release") and had this to say.
Regarding early releases such as the ComicsPRO early release of Scott Card's prequel to Ender's Game, Formic Wars: Burning Earth #1, I think there are better ways for ComicPRO to build membership. In our view, all retailers are better served when all enjoy the same release date.
Lone Star Comics is a member of ComicsPRO. But we understand that other comic retailers may not want to join because, based on their individual circumstances, they believe the cost of membership does not justify the potential benefits. Rather than create coercive circumstances that seek to impel membership, ComicPRO would better serve all retailers by introducing additional non-coercive features that give more retailers more reasons to join ComicPRO.
