HBO has released the official Game of Thrones Poster for the 11-part TV epic based on the first book in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Fire and Ice series of fantasy novels. HBO’s A Game of Thrones will receive a 15-minute preview on the cable network on April 3rd, and the first episode will debut on April 17th.

 

HBO has released two trailers for the series which is set on the mythical continent of Westeros where seven kingdoms are in the midst of a dynastic civil war (see “A Game of Thrones Trailer,” and “A New Game of Thrones Trailer”). Described as “The Sopranos meet Middle Earth,” A Game of Thrones is one of the most eagerly awaited TV series of 2011.
