Hermes Press, which is publishing Lee Falk and Ray Moore’s The Phantom daily newspaper strips, has just announced the first volume in an 8-volume set of deluxe hard cover collections of the Silver Age The Phantom comic books published by Gold Key starting in 1962.

 

The Phantom The Complete Series: The Gold Key Years, Vol.1 ($49.99), reprints the Gold Key issues of The Phantom #1 through #8 in glorious full color. In creating the Silver Age Phantom comics, Gold Key hired famed painter George Wilson to create the iconic covers, while writer Bill Harris provided the action-packed stories, and artist Bill Lignante handled the interior art.  Hermes plans to release The Phantom The Complete Series: The Gold Key Years, Vol.1 in May.
