Comic-Con News---Fox Animation has acquired the right to Patrick McDonnell’s Mutts comic strip and plans to create a CGI animated feature film based on the property.  McDonnell began his Mutts comic strip, which centers around the interactions of two house pets, a dog named Earl and a cat called Mooch.  Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz was a big fan of the strip, which he called one of the “best of all time.”

 

According to Variety, Patrick McDonnell and his brother Robert will write the screenplay for the film.  Patrick McDonnell will also serve as executive producer.
