Toycom is currently taking orders on its second series of King of the Hill Action Figures.  The first series is almost completely sold out at the wholesale level.  The second series includes three figures, which ship as an even-packed assortment (4+4+4).  Each figure has an MSRP of $12.99, and the assortment is scheduled to ship in February.  The second series includes a 6.5' figure of Boomhauer (with five points of articulation and a beer), Luann (6' tall with six points of articulation) and Bobby & Ladybird (4.5' tall with six points of articulation.

Like the first four figures in series one, each of the figures in series two comes with a portion of the alley fence that forms the backdrop for the show's opening.  Anyone who collects all seven figures will have a complete fence backdrop, which is decorated with a King of the Hill logo.

Though its success has been somewhat overshadowed by The Simpsons, Mike Judge's King of the Hill remains a staple ingredient in Fox's popular Sunday night lineup, and the series has also made a major splash in syndication.  In contrast to the reductio ad absurdum satire of The Simpsons, King of the Hill remains firmly rooted in the reality of white middle class Texas thanks to its realistic characters and a gentler, almost loving brand of satirical humor.

The first series of Toycom King of the Hill figures was not picked up by the major mass-market discounters, and it appears unlikely that the low price chains will be competing with hobby retailers on Series 2 when it debuts in February.
