Patty Jenkins (see ‘Patty Jenkins to Direct Thor 2”) will not be directing Thor 2; she left over “creative differences,” according to Deadline.  A new director will be signed soon, which will be necessary to make the November 13, 2013 release date (see “’Thor 2’ Debut Moved to November 15th, 2013”).

Jenkins was working on the film as recently as Monday afternoon, according to Hollywood Reporter, so the decision to leave the film was sudden.  

Jenkins replaced Kenneth Branagh, who declined to direct the sequel.  Jenkins' parting was reportedly amicable, however, and Jenkins may end up directing a non-sequel superhero movie for Marvel in the future.
