Matthew Vaughn has been signed to direct the sequel to X-Men: First Class, according to Deadline. Vaughn also directed the first in the series. Simon Kinberg, who’s listed as a producer on the first film, has been signed to write a script. Bryan Singer will be back as producer.
X-Men: First Class did not open as strong as some of the other Marvel films (see “’X-Men: First Class’ Hits Low End of Projections”), but held its audience well and showed its popularity in other ways (see “'X-Men: First Class' is Most Pirated Film” and “'X-Men: First Class' Leads Fall DVD Parade”).
