Namco Bandai has announced two additional Webcomics for its ShiftyLook Website, Alien Confidential from Cryptozoic Entertainment, and Rocket Fox, which is being created by Udon.  The purpose of the ShiftyLook Website is the development of intellectual property, much of which comes from vintage games created by Namco Bandai (see “Namco Bandai Cultivates IP”).  Certainly Namco Bandai is hoping that these games will find a second wave of popularity on smartphones and tablets, so it’s no surprise that Alien Confidential and Rocket Fox games will be released for phone and tablet platforms this spring.

Written by Sharon Scott and drawn by Andrew Pepoy, Alien Confidential is an anthology-style Webcomic that is filled with action, adventure, mystery, and even romance.  This strip has an inordinate amount of fun with the evergreen line: “So an alien walks into a bar.”

Udon’s Rocket Fox, which is written by Stacy King and illustrated by Shane Law, is property of a much lighter nature.  The comic will feature all the characters from the game, Guy Fox, Samiho, Huli, and Zenko.  It will adapt the story of the game, but will also explore some original narrative lines.

Udon is also creating a Webcomic based on the vintage video game Bravoman.  Written by Matt Moylan and drawn by Dax Gordine, the Bravoman comic is a re-imaging of the 1988 beat-em-up arcade game that features the self-proclaimed “greatest video game hero of all time.”

Bravoman and Alien Confidential will join the previously announced Xevious (see “Cryptozoic Does Xevious”), and Sky Kid for the March 9th launch of the free ShiftyLook Website.  Rocket Fox will launch later in the month.
