AMC announced today that all 10 locations May 3rd Avengers Movie Marathon have sold out, and the theater chain is adding more showings at the participating multiplexes.  The fact that event, which features six Marvel movies culminating in a midnight showing of Joss Whedon’s The Avengers, has sold out nearly a month before it is to take place testifies to the intense interest in Marvel’s first superhero team-up movie.  The ten locations are all located in major urban areas.

 

According to Deadline, tickets for the event, which includes a showing of The Avengers in RealD 3D, are $40.  Consumers will get a commemorative lanyard as well as a pair of limited edition Avenger Character RealD 3D glasses.  The movies that will bee shown include Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor (in RealD 3D), Captain America: The First Avenger (in RealD 3D), and The Avengers (also in 3D).
