Valiant Entertainment has released a bloody and arresting cover image trumpeting the September return of Ninjak to the company's universe. Created by Joe Quesada, Mark Moretti, and Bob Layton, the clever ninja spy debuted in Bloodshot #6 in 1993 and soon got his own title, which lasted for 26 issues.
The character was revamped after video game maker Acclaim took over Valiant in 1996, but the teenage version of the hero never really caught fire in spite of (or maybe because of) a hokey and unlikely connection to the world of video games.
The blood-spattered teaser cover released today by Valiant for Enter: Ninjak gives every indication that the publisher is going back to the character's early 1990s roots, rather than the video game influenced version of the charcter, for inspiration. Enter: Ninjak will have to fit into Valiant's growing lineup, which includes X-O Manowar, Harbinger, Bloodshot, and Archer and Armstrong.
