X-Men: Days of Future Past helmer Bryan Singer appeared at Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival over the weekend and revealed a number of interesting facts about his latest X-Men film, which is due to debut nationwide on May 23th, 2014. Among the tidbits that Singer revealed is the fact that there will be no Scarlet Witch in DOFP and that Josh Helman will in fact play a young General Stryker.
As befits a sequel the 1960s-set X-Men: First Class, the majority of the action in Days of Future Past takes place in 1973 with future segments of the film set 10 years after X3. According to a correspondent from JoBlo.com, Singer also stressed that Days of Future Past was being shot in "native 3-D," which of course is a lot better than having the extra dimension added post-production via a computer.
Singer also released another set photo on Twitter and this one comes with the caption, "Brightest set I’ve ever filmed on," and shows the crew filming scenes involving Quicksilver at a crazy high frame rate that should help actor Evan Peters create Quicksilver’s hyper-fast movements.
Singer has used Twitter very effectively to keep fans informed about Days of Future Past, and Fox has also set up a viral marketing Trask Industries Website (see "Images, Video for 'X-Men: DOFP'").
