Actress Cobie Smulders, who played Agent Maria Hill in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers, narrates the latest TV spot for the Whedon-created Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. that debuts on ABC on September 24th. In the new promo Hill connects the new show to The Avengers and the "Battle of New York," which evidently affected events and people involved in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in much the same way that 9/11 affected the mood and direction of the U.S. in 2001. Still yet to be determined is the role of Maria Hill in the TV series, which likely depends on Smulders’ availability, but it is encouraging to see her participating in this promotional effort for the series.
With the debut of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. now less than a month away, ABC and Disney have been stepping up the pace of the promos. The previous S.H.I.E.L.D. spot introduced Agent Coulson’s beloved Corvette named Lola, which is also the centerpiece of a new publicity still that the network has unveiled.
