Universal Pictures has named Andrea Berloff as script writer for their planned Conan reboot The Legend of Conan, according to Deadline.
The last news on the film was nearly a year ago in October (see "Arnold Does 'Conan'"), when both Universal Pictures and Arnold Schwarzenegger became involved. The film is mainly a passion project of Chris Morgan, who has written and produced the last four Fast & Furious films.
Berloff is best known for penning Oliver Stone’s 2006 World Trade Center film. Fredrik Malmberg , CEO of Conan property owner Paradox Entertainment, will share producer credit with Morgan & Emile Gladstone though Chris Morgan Productions.
The plot will revolve around an aged King Conan, and his efforts to stay on the throne, and the final effects of a life spent "obliterating anyone who got in his way."
