Marvel's first quarter report didn't just reveal the company's rapidly improving financial performance (see 'Marvel Blows Away Q1 Expectations'), it also laid out Marvel's film and videogame release schedule into next year. Topping this year's three Marvel movies (Daredevil, X2, and Hulk), in 2004 five movies based on Marvel properties will be released. Marvel's 2004 movie releases are as follow:
Punisher -- Summer 2004
Spider-Man II -- July 2, 2004
Iron Fist -- 2004
Fantastic Four -- 2004
Blade 3 -- 2004
Marvel has already started to hype Punisher, and Spider-Man is coming off its record-breaking performance last year. Blade has shown itself to be a solid, if limited, property. Iron Fist, while a minor property in the Marvel pantheon, has the potential to do significant dollars, and Fantastic Four has enough animation and comic exposure to do very well. The upshot is that the exposure Marvel's properties are going to get on the silver screen next year has the potential to increase Marvel's already booming sales even further.
