Monte Cook Games has announced plans to release the supplemental The Ninth World Bestiary, as well as a Creature Deck, for the Numenera RPG in early 2014.
The Ninth World Bestiary will feature more than 130 creatures and characters, as well as GM advice on using those pre-made creatures or creating new ones, and additional details about the Ninth World’s complex far-future, post-apocalyptic ecology. There is also a unique size comparison element for the illustrations, to help players visualize the scale of the creatures they’re facing.
The Creature Deck will feature 100 creature favorites from the core book and the bestiary, with full creature image on one side and abbreviated stats on the other.
If it holds to the Kickstarter campaign specifications, the book will be a 160-page, full color hardcover with a tentative MSRP of $40.00. Similarly, the Creature Deck will include 100 full-color cards and carry a tentative MSRP of $20.00. Backers will receive their copies in early February, with trade release to follow.
Numenera recently saw the release of its first adventure campaign book in October (see "'Numenera: The Devil's Spine'").
