Wizards of the Coast updated EventLink to integrate new QR codes that can be used for event registration.
One of the most irritating aspects of the Magic Companion app was that players would have to manually enter their event codes into app in order to enter an event and receive round pairings. As this app would periodically time out, for no particular reason what-so-ever, re-entering event codes during an ongoing event became a tedious yet common occurrence and an overall negative OP experience. It seems that WotC's tech team has finally addressed this issue by creating a feature where EventLink can now generate QR codes that can be scanned to enroll players in events. The QR code can be printed out and hung up in stores' play areas, so that players can scan in the event code if and when the app times out or crashes again on their phones.
