IDW Publishing has announced plans to launch a new Rocky & Bullwinkle comic series by Eisner-winning writer Mark Evanier (Groo the Wanderer), with interior art by Roger Langridge (The Muppet Show), in March. IDW is producing the series in partnership with Bullwinkle Studios and DreamWorks Animation. The first issue will feature variant covers by Stephanie Buscema (My Little Pony, Powerpuff Girls).
Each issue will include a self-contained story featuring the characters of Jay Ward’s Rocky & Bullwinkle animated series. The first issue will include a supporting Dudley Do-Right story as well.
IDW announced the acquisition of comic publishing rights for Jay Ward’s characters back in April (see "IDW Gets 'Rocky and Bullwinkle'") and has already debuted a four part Mr. Peabody & Sherman comic to capitalize on the DreamWorks movie adaptation coming in March (see "First 'Mr. Peabody & Sherman' Trailer").
