The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled against the heirs of Superman co-creator Joe Shuster in the long running litigation between the heirs and DC Comics parent Warner Bros., according to
Deadline. The heirs had requested a rehearing of the court’s 2-1 decision that reaffirmed a lower court ruling against the heir (see “
Another Appeal by Superman Creators”).
The denial of the request means that the Shuster litigation is effectively over. There is still an appeal on the Siegel case (see “
DC Owns Superboy”), but the court ruled decisively against the heirs in that case, so a reversal seems unlikely.
