The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled against the heirs of Superman co-creator Joe Shuster in the long running litigation between the heirs and DC Comics parent Warner Bros., according to Deadline. The heirs had requested a rehearing of the court’s 2-1 decision that reaffirmed a lower court ruling against the heir (see “Another Appeal by Superman Creators”).
The denial of the request means that the Shuster litigation is effectively over. There is still an appeal on the Siegel case (see “DC Owns Superboy”), but the court ruled decisively against the heirs in that case, so a reversal seems unlikely.
