Bryan Singer has released a teaser trailer on Instagram that reveals nine new shots from X-Men: Days of Future Past in just 7 seconds and sets the stage for “the big reveal” that is to come with the release of a new trailer on Monday. With the X-Men: Days of Future Past movie slated to debut nationwide on May 23rd, Singer and Co. have stepped up the pace of revelations concerning their adaptation of the classic X-Men saga (see "'X-Men' Movie News").
The first shot in the teaser shows Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine restrained in some sort white garment and plummeting toward the bottom of a sizable body of water. That is followed by a shot of Michael Fassbender as the young Magneto in a meditative pose, which in turn gives way to a shot new (to the movies) X-Men characters, Warpath (Booboo Stewart), Sunspot (Adam Canto), and Blink (Fan Bing-Bing), who literally have each other’s backs as they face off against an unseen enemy.
Next comes a shot that shows Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) pushing Magneto up against a wall, which is followed by a shot of White House security personnel opening a secret escape tunnel from the Oval Office, which lead to the most haunting and disturbing image in the teaser--a preternaturally calm Mystique dressed in mufti and staring straight ahead as everyone around her appears to panic. Is she involved in some sort of attack on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.?
The last three shots begin with a view of the older Magneto (Ian McKellen) standing side-by-side with Bobby "Iceman" Drake, which is followed by a straight on closeup of Fassbender as the young Magneto dressed in his signature cloak and helmet, and then finally by a shot of James McAvoy as the young Professor Xavier raising his hand to an unseen foe.
