Adam Driver is in final negotiations to play the villain in Star Wars: Episode VII. Driver plays another Adam in the HBO series Girls, and has also had roles in Inside Llewyn Davis and Lincoln. This is the first casting news for the next Star Wars movie, the first under Disney ownership, although some photos showing R2-D2’s participation were released (see "R2-D2 Is in 'Star Wars VII'").
The film is expected to focus on the original trio of characters, Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker (see "Disney Is Taking 'Star Wars' Back to Its Roots").
