Marvel Comics has revealed the first variant cover for the new Star Wars #1 comic by Joe Quesada, which will release in January.
Marvel announced the initial Star Wars comic line-up at San Diego Comic-Con (see "Marvel Launching 3 'Star Wars' Comics"), and this first series will be written by Jason Aaron (Thor, Original Sin), with art by John Cassaday (Astonishing X-Men). Star Wars #1 picks up immediately after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, to the days following the destruction of the first Death Star, as the characters from the original trilogy begin new adventures.
Marvel also recently announced it will begin printing Star Wars Epic Collections, bringing 35 years of Star Wars comic publishing to the oversize full-color format beginning in April (see "Marvel to Release Dark Horse 'Star Wars' Collections").
