DC Comics-based shows continue to post positive premiere numbers, with the CW revealing that The Flash premiere has set a network record after final viewership numbers were tallied, and NBC’s Constantine doing well against the World Series on Friday night.
After the first week, the Arrow spinoff The Flash is the most-watched telecast in the CW's history, HR is reporting. The October 7 series premiere has now netted 6.83 million viewers in the final live-plus-7 ratings, which is an addition of more than 2 million viewers from initial numbers.
The show has now bested the 2009 premiere of The Vampire Diaries in both the live-plus-three rating and final live-plus-7 rating. The network stated that the episode has been seen more than 13 million times across all platforms, which includes digital streams and encores.
The Flash premiere initially posted a 1.8 rating/6 share, netting 4.5 million viewers (see “'The Flash' Posts Best CW Debut in 5 Years”), and has since picked up a full season order (see “DC TV Show Round-Up”).
Constantine posted solid numbers, despite facing stiff competition with Game 3 of the World Series on Fox, Variety is reporting. The preliminary nationals from Nielsen say the 10 p.m. Constantine airing drew 4.3 million viewers overall, and a 1.4 rating/5 share in the adults 18-49 category.
