Marvel has announced that orders for Ultimate Fantastic Four #1 have driven the issue's print run past the 200,000 issue mark, making it the highest ordered new ongoing series debut of the twenty-first century. The new FF series features not one, but two top writers, Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Millar, plus an equally stellar art team of Adam Kubert (interior pages) and Bryan Hitch (cover). Marvel has devoted considerable resources to the launch of the new series, which could have eventual breakout potential thanks to a big-budget FF blockbuster film currently scheduled for the summer of 2005. The Ultimate FF debut has already received mentions in this month's Esquire and in this Sunday's Washington Post.
