Hasbro, Inc., the nation's second largest toymaker, has successfully settled its suit against Perfect Deal LLC, and the Market Point Group LLC. Hasbro sued the companies in an effort to stop the sale of fake Beyblade toys that infringe on Hasbro's trademarks (see 'Hasbro Sues Beyblade Knockoff Makers'). As part of the settlement the defendants in the suit agreed to stop all sales and distribution of the infringing merchandise, destroy all the items in inventory, and pay Hasbro an undisclosed amount in settlement.
The Beyblade craze started in Japan where the high tech, customizable fighting tops were a huge hit. This latest spin on one of the world's oldest toys has become a global phenomenon (see 'Beyblade Goes Global') and shows few signs of disappearing anytime soon.
